Meet Ramesh Roar

The Viking Yogi

Two decades at the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern performance science.

The Story

From the mat to the method.

In 2004, after 30 years of vegetarian living, daily yoga, and devotion to holistic health, Ramesh found himself facing a painful mystery — chronic prostatitis that no doctor or treatment could resolve. For more than three years, he tried everything: antibiotics, herbal remedies, and pain therapy. Nothing worked. Then, in a final act of self-experimentation, he turned to a simple yet radical practice — juice fasting, followed by new foods suited to his body type. Five weeks later, the symptoms were gone. He'd lost weight, felt more energy, slept better — but more importantly, he gained a profound understanding of what his body had been trying to tell him.

That turning point became the seed of the Vayda Method, a system that treats the body as one integrated whole rather than disconnected symptoms. Building on his years of study in India under yoga and Ayurveda masters, Ramesh began teaching others how to restore balance from the inside out. Today, this "Viking Yogi" — born in Norway and trained in India — has guided thousands of people back to health, not through quick fixes, but through the ancient-yet-modern art of listening deeply to the body's own intelligence and capacity for self-healing. As the proverb says: "When lifestyle is wrong, medicines may not work. When lifestyle is right, medicines may not be needed."

The Philosophy

Lifestyle as Medicine

In Ayurveda it is said: "When lifestyle is wrong, medicine is of no use. When lifestyle is right, medicine is of no need."

Modern science confirms this ancient wisdom: lifestyle habits are more important than genes. Longevity hinges on two key factors — regular fasting and a mostly plant-based diet. The Vayda Method teaches you how to build these habits sustainably, at home, on your own terms.

The Meaning of Vayda

Blending the traditions of East and West, Vayda derives from the Indian word "Veda" — signifying knowledge and wisdom. In the old Norse language of the Vikings, "Ve" means to be part of a community and to support each other. Vayda Wellness exists to provide you with the knowledge your body and mind have been waiting for, and to be supported by a community of fellow travelers on the path of holistic health.

What He Believes

Three truths that guide everything.

01

Life is far too brief and precious to engage in activities that fail to spark your joy and enthusiasm.

02

We are all perfectly imperfect beings and shouldn't be afraid to show our flaws.

03

Plant-based diets lower chronic disease risk, enhance performance, and are better for the planet.

The Vayda Method isn't a diet plan or a supplement stack. It's lifestyle as medicine — six foundational pillars that work together to restore your body's natural balance. Personalized to your biology, backed by both ancient wisdom and modern science.

  • Fasting

Aligns with your circadian rhythms, enhancing metabolism and activating your body's natural detoxification and repair

  • Hydration

Supports every vital function — energy, skin health, cognition. Most people are chronically underhydrated without knowing it

  • Whole Foods

A plant-forward approach that reduces disease risk and fuels your body with what it actually needs to thrive

  • Herbs

Holistic support for mental clarity, stress management, immunity, and gut health — nature's medicine cabinet

  • Yoga

Postures, breathwork, and movement that restore the body-mind connection — strength without depletion

  • Meditation

Quiets the nervous system, sharpens focus, improves sleep — the bridge between body and spirit
